We only have 86,400 seconds in a day to eat as much ramen we physically can. It's important for us that we guide you to the best ramen shops in town. Which rankings do we rely on? We rely on two crowd sourced review sites: Supleks Ramen Database and Tabelog. We also utilize Tokyo’s 2018 Michelin Guide to for our interactive maps.
The Supleks Ramen Database is generally held to be the largest-scale, most comprehensive ramen-related web site in Japan. The site is only about ramen and this is where all the ramen junkies in Japan get their most up to date information. Unfortunately, if you can't read Japanese it's not easy to maneuver through their site. Fortunately, The Ramen Culture is here to make it easier.
With 50 million users monthly, Tabelog, Inc. has the number one restaurant review website in Japan. For those who do not want to choose the wrong restaurant, Tabelog posts information about restaurants and eating establishements in Japan. The site provides original rankings based on user reviews and pictures. You can find popular places amongst various genres that match your purpose and budget.
Michelin Guide is a guide book published by a French tire company. Since 1955, the guide has also highlighted restaurants offering "exceptionally good food at moderate prices", a feature now called "Bib Gourmand". They must offer menu items priced below a maximum determined by local economic standards.
